TOURNAMENTS, TEAMS AND AGM

Rangiora Bridge Events 2026

The following events are additional to our usual club nights.

ANNIVERSARY PAIRS

This event will celebrate that the club is 59 years old in 2026. It is a single session tournament.  Qualifying eligibility is restricted to Club members and ex Club members.  Players may choose a partner from any grade.  Pairs are split into three groups based on the strength of each pair.  This is generally assessed on Rating Points. 

Trophies are awarded to the overall winner plus the winner of each group.

TEAMS 

2 competitions will be played during the year. 

1. Mixed Teams of Four - Tuesday Evenings

A competition for teams consisting of not more than two Senior players playing a three round competition for the Mixed Teams Trophy. Each team member must partner a different member of the team in each round.

To be played on Tuesday 17 & 24 February & 3 March.

If any member of a team is unable to play in all rounds substitutions will be allowed.

2. Open Teams - Sunday All Day 

An open competition with no restrictions on playing combinations, for the Open Teams Trophy. The number of boards / rounds played depends on number of teams entered.

(Participation is part of the selection criteria for our interclub team based on NZBridge Junior, Intermediate, Restricted Open and Open grades).

To be held on Sunday 23 August. during the daytime.

SWISS PAIRS

This event to be held on Sunday 3 May - all day.  An open competition with no restrictions on playing combinations. 

CROCKFORDS CHALLENGE

This is an annual event played against the Crockfords Club with a trophy at stake..

This event will be held on Sunday 2 August at Crockfords

TOWN V COUNTRY

Fun day for trophy.  Sunday afternoon 30 May.

  • CLUB SWISS PAIRS - Sunday 3 May - all day
  • RANGIORA RESTRICTED 8B TOURNAMENT - Sunday 28 June - day -  2 Sessions 
  • CANTERBURY SWISS PAIRS - Sunday 12 July - all day
  • CROCKFORDS CHALLENGE - Sunday 2 August at Crockfords
  • CLUB OPEN TEAMS OF FOUR - Sunday 23 August
  • SPRING SOCIAL TOURNAMENT - Friday 11 September - Morning/Afternoon
